Armoured Vehicles
The digitally encoded infra red is used as the media to transmit the encoded voice signals to and from the mobile user within the vehicle where there is both sensitive and electrically noisy equipment. The user gains complete freedom of movement while maintaining crystal clear two way voice communications.
The sensitive equipment is vulnerable to radio transmissions while the noise generated by the high current electronics can cause interference to communications channels. Digitally encoded infra red will not effect the most sensitive of electronic equipment and is totally immune to high levels of electrical noise. This makes infra red the ideal media for wire free voice communications in modern vehicles and in test cells.
